Pilates

Pilates is a method of exercise designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body. This form of movement originated in Germany over 90 years ago by Joseph H. Pilates. The original term "Contrology" was made up of over 500 exercises focusing on breathing, flexibility, and core strength to develop a perfectly balanced functioning body. The central aim is to create a fusion of mind and body, so that without thinking the body can move with economy, grace, and balance.

Pilates has many benefits. It is a great way to rehabilitate an injury, to increase flexibility, to obtain a strong core, and to create a strong and healthy back. It is a great way to correct muscular imbalances and improve posture, coordination, balance, and strength. Restoring a healthy balance is not only important to our physical form, but also our long term wellness. Pilates is the best total body workout, and ours is the studio to reach your goals.

Gyrotonic

The Gyrotonic Expansion System is an innovative system that embraces key movement principles also found in Pilates, yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming, and Thai Chi. Developed by Juliu Horvath, this unique three-dimensional system of movement, simultaneously strengthens, stretches, and elongates muscles. It stimulates connective tissue in and around the joints while increasing range of motion, maximizing core strength while improving balance, coordination, and flexibility. Gyrotonic equipment offers complete freedom of movement with its circular motion. This helps to increase the functional capacity of the spine through spinal articulation and creates a spherical and three- dimensional awareness resulting in a total balanced body. The equipment includes the Pulley Tower Combination Unit, Gyrotoner, Jumping-Stretching Board, Ladder, and Leg Extension Unit. Gyrotonic exercises are designed to take the body beyond its current limitations. There is no end point to the movements. The equipment becomes an extension of the body allowing it to reach further than it can on its own.

Thai Massage

Thai Massage Bodywork is a deep full body treatment. It includes both stretching of the joints and muscles with applied pressure to the energy lines in your body. The many benefits include: stress and pain relief, better resistance to injury, improved range of motion, release of lactic acid and other toxins, and toning of internal organs, and deep relaxation. Clinical Thai Bodywork incorporates the use of Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, acupoint work, and a structural analysis of body function. The Thai Herbal Compress (LPK), which is steamed to release its essential oils and herbal aromas, is pressed over certain acupressure zones for additional effect. A Thai Massage treatment is a positive, energizing, uplifting experience for the client.
